A growing retail company is seeking an experienced Inventory Controller to join their team. This role will be crucial in ensuring that all stock-related movements are accurately processed. A background in Finance, Account Management, or Planning is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Store Operations:
- Conduct regular variance checks and compile reports across systems and channels to maintain stock accuracy
- Manage stock locations virtually on SAP for precise inventory control
- Assist Area Managers with inter-branch transfers, ensuring accurate inventory tracking throughout the process
- Collaborate with planners to generate stock and sales reports to optimize stock levels and sales
Stock Counts:
- Perform two comprehensive stock counts annually in collaboration with relevant stakeholders, identifying any potential stock loss per location
- Execute daily cycle counts, analyze stock discrepancies, and propose preventive measures
- Reconcile various systems, investigate variances, and report discrepancies related to inter-branch transfers (IBTs)
System Integrations:
- Work closely with IT and warehouse teams to resolve inventory data discrepancies
- Ensure accuracy in stock movements between ERP, Cargowrite, and POS systems
- Conduct data reconciliations between planning, ERP, and POS to identify and investigate inventory inconsistencies
- Manage sales data integrations from POS to ERP systems, ensuring accurate sales order history (SOH)
- Investigate and resolve unexported items across all sales channels daily
Reporting:
- Analyze store stock data and trace system inaccuracies
- Compile stock adjustments for stores and distribution centers as needed
- Investigate and explain variances in inventory data across different sales channels, and document findings to suggest improvements
Cost Management:
- Partner with the finance team to minimize stock losses and ensure accurate financial reporting
Qualifications and Skills:
- Degree in a numerical, retail business, or related business field
- 3+ years of experience in inventory control, store planning, or head office administration within a retail environment
- Proficiency in retail ERP systems, SAP, and Shopify
- Advanced Excel skills
