A leading manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Machine Setter to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM) processes, with in-depth technical knowledge and practical experience in setting up and maintaining production machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical:
- Identify, report, and rectify technical concerns on assigned production equipment (machines, moulds, etc.).
- Thorough understanding of product quality criteria, material feeding and drying, injection moulding, and blow moulding processes.
- Perform mould installations and apply technical knowledge, including reading technical drawings for assemblies, spare parts, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Conduct fault analysis and problem-solving for product quality issues, mould issues, and machine malfunctions (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electric).
- Collaborate with the Maintenance and Production Managers to resolve issues on other equipment when needed.
Maintenance:
- Develop and follow maintenance plans and checklists.
- Conduct maintenance independently and ensure it’s done at required intervals, whether by yourself or external service providers.
- Document all maintenance activities and proactively identify spares needed for preventative maintenance.
Machine Setting:
- Optimise the production process by setting machines for optimal performance and cycle times.
- Ensure process integrity is maintained, amend and document new settings when necessary.
Management & Administration:
- Work closely with the Maintenance and Production Managers to coordinate machine availability and major maintenance intervals.
- Report task progress and completion dates, ensuring communication is clear with internal teams (QC, Production) and external partners (suppliers, technical departments).
- Strive for continuous improvement, providing suggestions for process and product enhancements.
- Log completed jobs, analyze defect registers, and work with the Maintenance and Production Managers to improve production outcomes.
- Maintain an overview of stock and spares, conducting spare part analysis and sourcing as required.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Machine Setter, with specific expertise in ISBM
- In-depth technical knowledge of the blow moulding process, fault analysis, and maintenance principles.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and execute mould changes effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
