Are you a skilled Financial Manager/Snr Accountant/Group Accountant with a passion for governance, compliance, and strategic financial planning. A highly reputable company in the renewable energy sector, is looking for an experienced professional to oversee the financial management of Economic Development (ED) and Socio-Economic Development (SED) initiatives across the group, which consists of 12 entities. Key Responsibilities
Economic Development (ED) Management & Governance:
- Prepare, manage, and monitor ED and SED budgets.
- Report on ED and SED projects to the board of directors.
- Provide detailed financial reports to lenders and funders.
- Monitor and calculate ED/SED performance debits/credits and termination points.
Financial Management:
- Validate and review SED and ED expenditures.
- Track, analyse, and compare spending against budgets.
- Review and authorise SED and ED payments for financial accountability.
- Manage cash flow across all entities, ensuring liquidity.
- Develop and implement cost-efficient financial strategies.
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT, corporate tax, and statutory obligations.
- Conduct financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Department of Energy (DOE) Reporting:
- Compile and submit Annexure A, including procurement records and SED/ED spending.
- Conduct quality checks and oversee Annexure B reports.
- Monitor and evaluate service provider SED/ED reports.
- Ensure compliance with DOE reporting obligations, including bursaries, education initiatives, and SME spend tracking.
Audit Management:
- Lead audit preparation and management.
- Maintain audit documentation for people data, procurement, and SED/ED donations.
- Oversee B-BBEE audit compliance, covering skills development, people management, and procurement.
Community Trust Monitoring:
- Monitor the implementation of trust structures to ensure strategic alignment.
- Oversee trustee operations and regulatory compliance.
What You Need to Succeed
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Completed Articles an advantage
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting/financial management role post-articles ideally
- Strong understanding of ED and SED financial governance and compliance.
- Experience in DOE and B-BBEE financial reporting (preferred).
- Audit preparation and financial reporting expertise.
