Vacancy: Supply Chain Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee all aspects of our supply chain operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills, strong leadership qualities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO).
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and recommend qualified suppliers for raw materials, packaging, and other essential components.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing, quality compliance, and timely delivery.
- Build and manage supplier relationships, focusing on performance monitoring, issue resolution, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee inventory levels at all supply chain stages, minimising stockouts and surplus inventory.
- Implement and monitor KPIs related to procurement, warehousing, and planning to ensure optimal performance.
- Continuously evaluate and enhance supply chain processes, incorporating efficiency improvements such as lean manufacturing principles.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to facilitate efficient production planning.
- Maintain and optimise inventory management systems (e.g., ERP, WMS) to ensure effective stock control.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including those arising from natural disasters, economic changes, or political instability.
- Develop and implement sustainable practices and remain compliant with all relevant regulations.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and ethical standards across all supply chain activities.
- Lead, coach, and develop the procurement, warehousing, and planning teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.
- Recruit, train, and nurture talent within the supply chain department.
- Stay informed about industry trends and regulations in supply chain management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. Experience in the Cosmetics, Pharmaceutical, Food, or FMCG industries is preferred, particularly with GMP exposure.
- Proven forecasting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of implementing process improvements.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal abilities for building and maintaining stakeholder relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office and supply chain management software (e.g., ERP systems).
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
