Are you an experienced finance professional passionate about conservation and making an impact? We are looking for a Project Officer: Accounts & Grant Management to join this dynamic team! If you have a strong background in financial management, grant administration, and project reporting, this role could be the perfect fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in establishing and monitoring office budgets and sub-awarded partner grants.
  • Manage quarterly and monthly financial planning and budget advance cycles.
  • Conduct continuous and mandatory financial reviews in line with program rules and policies.
  • Validate project report balances on a monthly basis.
  • Monitor payments and financial reports for grant agreements.
  • Prepare and consolidate financial reports and cash flow projections.
  • Oversee and monitor partner contracts.
  • Assist in responding to audit requests and financial data queries.
  • Serve as the main financial point of contact for program-related financial matters.
  • Establish and maintain a Fixed Assets register.

Requirements:

Qualification: Financial/Accounting degree or diploma

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Accountant
  • Proficiency in financial management and reporting within project cycle management
  • Experience managing US government donor-funded and/or multi-partner project budgets (advantageous)
  • Familiarity with financial packages (NetSuite experience is a plus)

Key Competencies:

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced MS Excel proficiency
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite (advantageous)

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Deadline-driven with the ability to manage conflicting priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and independently
  • Valid passport and driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel
  • Passion for community conservation, landscape-level approaches, and small business development solutions (beneficial)
