Senior Commercial Analyst

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Commercial Analyst to join a dynamic and fast-paced organization within the financial services sector. This role is based in Cape Town, with the option to work remotely.

As a Senior Commercial Analyst, you will lead the analytics capability within the Commercial team, reporting directly to the Chief Commercial Officer. You’ll have the opportunity to collaborate across departments, applying your expertise to solve complex business problems through data-driven solutions, supporting a range of services across Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and mentor a team, including a Commercial Analyst and a Commercial Administrator.

• Work closely with stakeholders to gather analysis requirements and deliver insights that drive strategic decisions.

• Build and maintain dashboards and reports, with a focus on pricing strategies, P&L reporting, and market share growth.

• Analyse competitor pricing data across various markets.

• Design and develop data visualizations and reporting solutions.

• Deliver presentations and train users on analytical tools and findings.

• Identify gaps in processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.

• Ensure high data quality and collaborate to improve data hygiene.

• Stay up to date with the latest tools, methodologies, and coding practices for process automation.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 or equivalent.

• Tertiary qualification in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Finance, Business Analytics).

• Professional qualification such as CFA, CA(SA), or CIMA.

• 5-10 years’ experience, preferably in Financial Services, FX markets, or high-growth businesses.

• Strong communication skills, able to present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Hands-on experience with modern BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik).

• Skilled in Excel (advanced level, including VBA), SQL, R, Python, or similar.

• Solid understanding of data analysis techniques and predictive modeling.

• Experience managing a team is essential.
